Just a Quickie!

I'm referring to a card project, in case you wondered!

Some of our new embossing folders are larger making them suitable for a whole Aussie-sized card front  (148mm x 105mm).   This card uses the new Chevron folder.   I like it because I can see possibilities for male cards, and a lot of us do struggle to make cards for our men!

I've used the smallest number of supplies on this card;
The greeting is from the Word Play Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso ink;
Whisper White card stock and a scrap of Marina Mist
Marina Mist Satin Ribbon
Chevron Embosssing folder for the Big Shot.
1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Square Punches.

Hope your Thursday is terrific!
Cheers

Up, Up & Away

Here's a balloon made using the honeycomb technique.  This one uses the 1 1/4" circle punch.  Like yesterday's, it's a lot of punching and uses around 18 - 20 circles.

The trick with these is to make sure you use lightweight paper - our DSP is perfect, but you could also use tissue paper or that fabulous brown packing paper that comes in our Stampin' Up! deliveries!

Happy Tuesday!

Honeycomb Shapes

Darling Stamp & Scrap club's technique demo this month was honeycomb shapes.

This is a technique that I've used before for Christmas ornaments, but usually I've only made them with 3 or 4 punched pieces.

These use a lot of layers - the apple is around 20 -25 punches, but it's so gorgeous it was worth the effort.   The punch I used is called the Full Heart.   You snip off about 5mm from the bottom of each one before you stick them together.  So cute!

I'll pop back later with a couple more, and you can also find another sample on my facebook page.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

CAS Masculine Birthday

The new Mocha Morning Specialty DSP is a real winner.   I think some of the papers remind me of an old world gentleman's club......well, at least those I've seen in movies!

This card is definitely clean and simple and the stripes really lend themselves to a discerning gentleman's birthday.

Supplies used:
Stamp Set:  Word Play
Cardstock: Very Vanilla & Soft Suede
Paper: Mocha Morning Specialty DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Buttons
1/2" Circle Punch

What do you think?

A quick case before bed

I've spent hours making christmas cards for the troops tonight, so just before I decided to call it a night, I cased a card from the IB&C.  This was a quickie - do you know which page it's from?

The colours are Baja Breeze, Whisper White & Soft Suede.  The greeting is one of my favourites from Word Play.  And how effective is that embossing with the Elegant Lines folder and the Big Shot?  Not to mention the tone on tone flowers - Floral Fusion Sizzlit.   The ribbon is Certainly Celery twill....from a promotion last year maybe??

Leave me a comment if you know the page.  And tell me your favourite embossing folder.

G'night
