No, a whole week hasn't passed already, it's just that last week my card was almost late for Mojo Monday and this week it's really early! This is the first time I've combined two challenges, how exciting!
When I saw this sketch, it said Christmas.....partly because I've been working on some demo samples for my mini launch, so I'm kind of "in the zone". And also because I'm growing my stash for the troops - rather well right now as it happens! Yay me!
And that's where the Just Add Ink challenge comes in, because this week is snowflakes!
So, here we have a couple of my fav things - snowflakes, and traditional Christmas colours. What could be better (some real snow please!).
Do you like the way the snowflakes are stamped? It's a technique called Stipple Kissing. Start by inking your stamp in the lighter colour - I've used Crumb Cake. Then, using a stipple brush, swipe it gently across the darker ink - Cherry Cobbler, and dab it on top of the stamp. You can do specific areas as I've done here but it also looks great when it's a bit random and slap dash. Be sure to breathe all over the stamp to moisten the ink before stamping onto your cardstock.
The rhinestones add a touch of sparkle and for a change I've used the embossed Old Olive cardstock on the de-bossed side, or the side where the image is pushed in.
Supplies used:
Stamp Set - ?? Sneaky Peeky, Sweet Sentiments
Cardstock - Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Old Olive
Ink - Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler
Paper - ?? Sneaky Peeky
Petals a Plenty embossing folder, ??? Sneaky Peeky Framelits & the Big Shot
Rhinestone jewels, 1 1/4" square punch, stipple brush
What are those gorgeous sneaky peeky products? You'll find out at the mini launch - email me to book - AND you'll get to use them too!
Cheers
Karen

Sneak Peek with a Challenge for FMS 98
Good morning crafters! It's a beautiful Monday in Sydney and we are being treated to unseasonably warm weather so today's card is full of warmth. It's also a little sneak peek at a couple of new products coming in the Holiday Catalogue (out 1 Sept). Email me if you'd like to attend the launch on 31 August.
My card is in response to a Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
Have a crafty day!

The Designer Series Paper & maple leaf stamp are both in the upcoming mini catty. I've done a shadow or ghosting technique on the leaf and I love the way it's turned out.
Combined with those cute naturals buttons, it's quite a nice result.
Have a crafty day!

Cheeky Sneaky Peeky!
I'm prepping projects for my upcoming launch, and in the process had this little mess on the desk. I love the bits that come out of the border punches don't you? They're kind of festive and make me think of confetti and party table decorations.
And yes, they are also the new In Colors! Yummy! You can see this project, and lots more at the launch on 1st September. I still have one or two spots left, so let me know if you'd like to join us for a spot of bubbly and a lot of craft.
Cheers

Simply Scored CAS
I would put this card in my clean & simple category. It's very straightforward and uses a minimum of supplies. Plus it was quick to make.
Yes, it's another sneak peek using products from the upcoming catalogue (get your copy at my launch party on 1 Sept). Contact me today if you'd like to come along, I only have a couple of spaces left, so be quick!
The colours used are Tangerine Tango for the base & bird. I love the depth of this particular orange. The leaf is stamped in Old Olive while the flower and sentiment are done in Tempting Turquoise. Not colours I'd normally put together, however I did want to try a different combination, so I grabbed my Color Coach & voila, this is what I found. Don't they look nice and fresh together?!
Happy Friday.
Karen
P.S. Darling Stamp & Scrap is on tomorrow and there's still a couple of spots if you'd like to come!

Time for a Sneak Peek
I am so ready for the new catalogue! There's always a rush of excitement with new goodies, and this year is no different - except to say it may be better than ever before!!
Anyway, I have some of my new toys, so after having a little play, thought I should share a project......
The colours I've used are Pink Pirouette (card base and medium flower), Elegant Eggplant for the main flower and the DSP, and Lucky Limeade for the sentiment & small flower. The ruffled ribbon is Wisteria Wonder.
Hope you like it!
Cheers

New Catalogue IB&C Sneak Peek
This is a very exciting month with the arrival (to demonstrators) of our brand new, sparkly, shiny & oh-so-lovely 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue.
You may know that the items in the catty don't actually go on sale until 1 September. However, if you are one of my cherished customers, you can attend a launch party on Sunday 28 August, 2pm at my house. Call or email me if you want to be one of the lucky ones!
Meanwhile, I have been perusing...(translate: reading the print off the page)....my copy of the catty, and the cover is so completely gorgeous that I thought I'd try to CASE a couple of the projects. Bear in mind that at the time of making I hadn't received all my pre-ordered sneak peek stuff, but, given my 5 years experience with this wonderful company, I've had a shot at a really good forge!
One of the colours on the card & in the flowers should be a new In Color. I've substituted Cajun Craze, and I really like it. Also, the paper that looks like DSP is actually made by stamping part of a stamp repeatedly onto Confetti White Cardstock to get the desired effect. I've substituted twill tape and crumb cake taffeta ribbon for the new one's I don't yet have and my torn paper with the espresso dots on was done using a marker.
Now, the SU rules are very clear about us not being allowed to post a picture of the catalogue but we can show pictures of projects so I'm hoping that I've not crossed any boundaries. I'll check with them tomorrow so if my post is gone after talking to demo support you'll just have to come to the launch to see the real thing!
Don't forget that there's still some retiring products available, but they're running out fast so please don't delay if you still have some things on your wish list.
I will pop in tomorrow with some pics of cards I've made using retiring products.......it's so sad it makes me weep....giggle!
Happy end of the week
