Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?

It's Friday, and another week in lockdown ticks by.

There's no question that this long spell of minimising activities has been made easier because of my card making community.  I have been very fortunate to have a group of people join me on zoom each week, and we've chatted and laughed at everything from the ridiculousness of the world right now to the state of our hair!!   There's no doubt that I am inspired by each of you, so thank you!

I've also been very spoiled with a lot of happy mail.  Yes.  The card makers dream is to receive handmade cards that they didn't make themselves!!  Here's my display.  You may recognise a card you've made and sent to me.  And I'm truly grateful and blessed to have you in my life.

Please share where you get your inspiration from.  Leave a comment below, and let's brighten eachother's day.

Here's cheers to seeing you in person in the not too distant future.

Step It Up

Happy Monday.

Last week I rejoined Stampin’ Up! And got some gorgeous new products to play with.

So today I’d like to share 3 cards I made with the Lovely You bundle consisting of  a stamp set & co-ordinating punch.

I was inspired to make this card from the sample on page 22 of the annual catalogue.  There’s 18 stamps in the set and I like how they go together almost like making your own designer series paper.

The second card is ‘stepped up’ with the addition of a mat layer in Blackberry Bliss. I’ve also used 2 labels, 1 in each of the designs of the punch. And a bit of ribbon tied in a classic knot.

Card #3 takes the design up another notch with the addition of some pearls and embellishments made by stamping and fussy cutting one of the flower images and the leaves.  Using dimensionals also highlights the sentiment to make it pop off the card.

So when you’re making something, why don’t you have a go at several different options, from basic to stepped-up? No card is better than the others, they just have a different look and depending on the event you may prefer simple or a more detailed look.

The products I used are here:
