In both of my samples, the backgrounds were made using markers coloured directly onto a stamp block, then lightly spritzed with water. I then pressed the block onto Stampin' Up! Shimmery White Card Stock. I used this particular base because it holds water quite well, and behaves more like watercolour card than our Basic White/Whisper White. You also get a lovely shimmery finish that catches the light, so it adds another dimension to your project.
