Creative Elements with Heat Embossing

I love the look of clear embossing on coloured cardstock, and it works particularly well on darker colours.

This card uses the stamp set Creative Elements (#128523 in wood, or #122647 in clear).  Each image was stamped in Versamark ink (#102283) then covered with clear embossing powder (#109130) and heat set using the heat tool (#129056).  The card stock is Chocolate Chip (#108599) and I've used Very Vanilla (#106550) for the Happy Birthday (from Memorable Moments stamp set #126682 in clear or #132039 in wood) which was cut out using the Labels Framelits (#125598).

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from a new pack called Soho Subway (#130140).  There are some great patterns in the pack and it could easily be used for male & female cards as the patterns and graphics are interchangeable.

Punching butterflies is easier than ever with the Elegant Butterfly punch - I've snipped off the little ends from the wings because they got in the way of the sentiment, and the banner is hand cut from a scrap of Chocolate Chip card stock.  

Lastly, I made a flower using Simply Pressed Clay (#130685), died with re inker (Soft suede maybe??)

A Quick Card

Just thought I'd share this quick card with you today.

I've let the Designer Series Paper speak for itself here.   Isn't it pretty?  It's called Sunny Garden and unfortunately retired.  It's almost my last piece so thought it was time to get it out and use it!  And I do wish that stamp set (Well Scripted) was still around.  I have a lot of retired SU product that I just can't part with and every now and then I play with it for my own personal use.  Lovely!

I'm off to Convention tomorrow so will be posting my pics over the next few days.

Apothecary Art Artistry Card #4

Last one in this series!
And oh so simple.   I think I'll label this Clean & Simple actually!

So, a white layer on a white base - always classy.......the layer has had the edges distressed with the cutter kit.   I know some of you are a bit funny about that technique ;0 but it does highlight the tone on tone and makes a nice frame for the stamped images.

This is my favourite stamp in the Apothecary set.  You can pop up the centre like I've done here, and it looks fabulous when it's a different colour to the outside as well.

Our new butterfly punches are perfect layered together and would also be nice with a little pearl or rhinestone in the centre of the body......oops forgot to add them before I took the photo!

Spritzing Like Crazy

This card was inspired by Sara Gardner via Shelli's blog, here.

I've used the Stampin' Spritzer bottle (#126185, 2 bottles for $4.95!) filled with Isocol (rubbing alcohol) and Pacific Point reinker.   I mix it a bit randomly, so it's a surprise every time!  But you can do it in a measured way if you want consistent colour.

I've also used the Colour Spritzer tool (#107066) with the Calypso Coral marker.  I do love this look but it can be a temperamental tool so you have to play around until you get the marker in the right posi, but it's definitely worth the effort.

The stamps are from our current SAB promotion - Vintage Verses.  And of course, how did I live without those butterflies?  Isn't the little one cute in vellum?
